The Art Director is responsible to lead overall day-to-day operations and creative direction to create solutions to support our business. Leads a team of creatives and creative project managers. Responsible for ensuring that the creative team is highly effective.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Lead the development of brand style guidelines.
• Partner with editorial leaders, including production and motion graphics designers, to ensure the look and sound of on-air and in-video amplifies our brand.
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop stand-out messaging and marketing design to drive consumer brand awareness and tune-in across all formats/channels.
• Oversee the UI/UX design of mobile, tablet, and smart television apps and work with the Product Development team to implement the industry's best video experience.
• Work with the Product Development, Marketing, and Editorial teams to develop a design system and oversee a workflow that leads to consistent execution of the brand.
• Work collaboratively with the Scripps digital creative team on marketing and sales-related creative projects to ensure a seamless and stand-out brand experience across all touchpoints.
• Create and present creative solutions for our clients and works closely with the creative leadership team to ensure that all work is of the highest quality.
• Foster strong internal client relationships.
• Oversee the daily operations of the creative team, including the services/tools/processes that can sufficiently support the team's ability to be efficient and profitable and based on revenue-spend of our advertiser clients.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders and revenue team to ensure that the creative team is operating as a strong business partner by finding cost and process efficiencies, that are aligned with the business goals of the revenue team.
• Ensure the delivery of strategic, smart, and well-designed ad creative by designers and project managers.
• Lead and critique creative concepts (both design and copy), providing strong art direction for the creative that is being developed and guidance when it comes to copywriting.
• Lead, guide, direct and provide creative feedback to a team of designers cultivating highly developed design and layout skills.
• Help create and interpret the creative strategy for all projects into a great piece of creative that delivers the best communication and creative solution possible and supports the business goals of the client.
• Cultivate a passionate, driven creative team that has the strong desire to design and execute best in class work at all times.
• Provide leadership, training, and knowledge in all online, digital experience with display ad, websites, landing pages, print, branding, motion, and video work.
• Work with creative leadership to manage and oversee the creative teams including operating budgets, business planning and leading quarterly updates on creative team performance.
• Responsible for coordination of all third-party vendors, including setting service. agreements and budgets in collaboration with the creative leadership team
• Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or Art preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 10 years of design and art directing experience required.
• Minimum of 10 years managing people, clients and/or teams required.
