Job Description
Rocket Science is an Emmy nominated boutique visual effects studio collaborating with filmmakers to create stunning visual imagery utilizing artistry, science and technology. Located in Toronto, Canada, notable credits include Eric Kripke’s Emmy nominated superhero series THE BOYS (Amazon), the epic video game adaptation HALO (Paramount +), the BAFTA winning mini-series TITANIC (iTV), six seasons of Naren Shankar’s sci-fi series THE EXPANSE (Amazon), and features such as Neil Jordan’s GRETA (Sidney Kimmel, John Leonetti’s WISH UPON (Broad Green Pictures) and David Cronenberg’s upcoming Cannes release CRIMES OF THE FUTURE.

We are currently searching for an experienced FX Artist to join our talented team!
Responsibilities:
- Create dynamics and simulation effects using rigid body, particle, fluid, pyro, cloth, fur and hair systems.
- Rendering FX elements, assisting in exporting caches to another renderer and basic compositing skills to present your work.
- Work within a collaborative team environment, contributing efficient design approaches for challenging FX shots.
- Regularly submit WIPs and take direction from FX, CG and VFX Supervisors
Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience in a live-action VFX Environment with a solid understanding of pipeline flow.
- Proficient with Houdini FX
- Desired skills - Maya, Dynamics, MEL scripting, Python.
- A strong understanding of real world physics.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve in a fast paced environment
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
