The Role
Roc Nation, a Live Nation joint venture, is searching for a well-connected Head of Marketing & Communications with a passion for sport, music, lifestyle and brands. This role will report into the President of Roc Nation Sports International. The position is based in the London headquarters and is an opportunity for an ambitious applicant to will play a critical role in the future growth and success of the most influential sports and entertainment agency in the world – Roc Nation. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for our consulting clients and athletes – Thanks to your excellent brand building, campaign management, project management, content ideation and production workflow skills you'll lead the Roc Nation creative team to dream up big, bold content ideas and stories – actively encouraging them to follow their creative flair. In addition you will have a strong blackbook of media contacts across sports, lifestyle and consumer media, managing our PR & Communications manager to deliver a regular media coverage that matters for distinctive PR campaigns for some of the world's leading sports stars, rights holders and brands.
Key Responsibilities will include:
• Providing a new structure and framework in terms of branding, content creation and marketing from which your team can develop marketing activity to support client activities, including campaigns, social media strategy, activation and advertising
• Creating and managing a marketing calendar full of opportunities for top tier clients
• Defining and driving client brands to a range of stakeholders, tailoring messaging and developing marketing campaigns and activity
• Providing strategic oversight of all communications with external audiences, working cross-departmentally to identify and maximise opportunities in order to bring the client brands broad scope of work and achievements to life
• Support the other departments; Sales, Player Recruitment with marketing and content collateral
• Leading and owning Marketing and Communications as a strong tool to feed into building relationships with sponsors, partners and athletes
• Developing and being the point of contact for our media partnerships; Leaders in Sport etc…
• Meeting regularly with external parties, agencies and partners as required
• Providing influence on these external parties/agencies
• Fostering and growing the Roc Nation Sports International brand by embodying our brand message in all communications
• Developing creative communication and marketing ideas with the input of the wider team, streamlining our messaging so that it is meaningful to our audiences
• Identifying, fostering and growing online audiences through online media platforms; website, media partners and owned and operated social media channels
The ideal candidate will have:
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in marketing roles
• Solid experience of a leadership role in Marketing & Communications
• Expertise in re-branding and brand management of athletes, sports clubs and/or leagues
• Proven success in the development of marketing and communications strategies including brand and content development
• Expertise in delivering tailored messaging to a range of audiences and markets
• Proven experience in leading successful campaigns from start to finish, including managing third parties or employees and reporting to stakeholders
• Experience managing budgets
• Extensive copywriting experience
• A passion for sport, music, lifestyle, the arts and fashion
