PMRe: Vice President, Construction & Development
Penske Media Real Estate (PMRe), a division of Penske Media Corp. (PMC), is hiring a VP of Construction & Development to oversee all on-site construction operations and construction-related development of current undeveloped land in the Bahamas. The Vice President we are seeking will possess a comprehensive operations management, accounting, construction and development background, with strong Microsoft Excel skills. Expected to supervise the daily tasks of 10+ individuals in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment with complex infrastructure, he/she will also manage budgets, equipment, and high-value assets while mitigating risk and ensuring safety. The preferred candidate will have ability to live on-site in the Bahamas.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee all development and construction operations while maintaining budgets and tight timelines
• Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
• Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
• Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
• Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
• Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
• Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
• Manage employees as well as general contractors and give them guidance when needed
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
• Implement innovative strategies to achieve organizational objectives

Requirements and Skills:
• Familiarity with construction/ project management software
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suite
• Accounting background
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• A team player with leadership abilities
• At least 8 years of experience in construction and development operation leadership
• Ability to live on-site
