We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Payroll Specialist with the Payroll Services Department. This position will be responsible for processing payroll on multiple pay cycles for players, salaried, and hourly team members within company pay policies and requirements for all Federal, State and local laws. Perform functions necessary to maintain accurate employee records.
What Will You Do:
• Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and supplemental payrolls
• Review and analyze timesheets, payroll payment spreadsheets and all other source documents for accuracy and process them in the HRIS system
• Transfer timecard information from timekeeping system to the HRIS system
• Balance all earning and deductions prior to finalizing the payroll for printing
• Ensure accurate taxing of all payments for City, State and Federal purposes
• Process apportionment of wages spreadsheets, as provided by the Payroll Accounting & Tax Analyst. Verify correct State tax withholdings as related to the apportionment.
• Process all miscellaneous payments, taxable fringe benefits and other items to be included in employee compensation as information is received (i.e. Taxable Value of tickets, Per Diems, etc.)
• Administration of garnishments and issuance of related payments
• Maintain the data integrity of employee information in the HRIS and time and attendance applications
• Process new hires, rehires, terms, job changes and other changes in the time and attendance application
• Review all employee change and payroll requests for missing information and work with HR and/or Department Managers to obtain missing information
• Prepare and maintain monthly reports for Accounting (i.e. check registers & direct deposit registers)
• Perform quarterly audit of each employee’s paid time off balances
• Review and make corrections to time off balances subsequent to annual rollover and throughout the year as needed
• Provide support to team members and respond to inquiries with the HRIS and Workforce Management applications
• Assist with Training of staff on HRIS and Workforce Management applications
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
What We Need From Our Payroll Specialist:
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
• Knowledge - tax withholdings, payroll deductions, pay cycle,
• Self-motivated, flexible when different circumstances arise, quick learner, work well in a team, have excellent time management and function independently
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employees’ personal data and the Organization’s financial data
• Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all staff levels
• Excellent communicator, must be a team player, self-starter, must be able to take responsibility of any task assigned
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize, can adapt quickly on a high pace work environment, resolved problems accurately in timely manner
Experience/ Education Requirements:
• Two to five (2 – 5) years of full cycle payroll processing experience (preferred)
• Multi-State taxation experience required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• UltiPro and/or ABIMM experience a plus
