Game Night Communications Staff (Part-Time)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Philadelphia 76ers' communication staff is opening a role for the upcoming season. Those hired will be able to work with the PR team at home games and accumulate hands-on experience with an NBA team. Game Night Staff members will assist with transcribing media availabilities, working with media members covering home games, and gathering information such as stats. This fast-paced position allows individuals to foster relationships with local and national media personalities while enhancing their communication skills to build a career within the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:
• Learn to plan and execute game-day activities, including production and distribution of press credentials, coordination of appropriate sign-in for press meals, assistance with press area operations during games, and the recording and transcribing of postgame press conferences
• Provide support writing postgame notes for distribution to media
• Help keep storage areas and media room organized
• Support and assist with the various types of ways the department distributes information, including press releases, press conferences, publicity events and off-day media availabilities
• Perform all other objectives, projects, and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• College juniors, seniors, or recent graduates, or equivalent experience
• Must be able to work majority of Philadelphia 76ers home games
• Must be able to work game nights, which includes weekends and holidays, if necessary
• Must demonstrate professionalism, a customer-first attitude, enthusiasm, and strong verbal and written communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Work Environment: This position requires that work be performed from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA
• Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to move for an entire shift (approximately 4-6 hours)
