Our team based in Miami, Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, has seen some incredible growth, and is hiring for a Staff Accountant to join our industry-leading Spanish language division. We're very much a big family, with a lot of people from different and diverse backgrounds, but with a desire to empower and improve. Joining the team, you will gain incredible exposure to the workings of a global business, collaborating with our teams in New York, Spain, and Latin America.
Joining a team that's been established for a few years now, you'll focus on a number of everyday ticket responsibilities, as well as gaining exposure to how one of the smaller but newer imprints in the USA functions, all while considering how you can improve the role and function as a whole. Reporting into the Accounting Manager, you'll have some great guidance as to how we operate, and also will be given the room we'd want you to have to complete the tasks relevant to your capabilities! This position is located in Miami, FL but is temporarily remote due to COVID-19. To give additional context, see below that some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Preparing journal entries
• Maintaining the general ledger
• Maintaining and updating accounting records and files
• Creating expense reports
• Reconciling bank statements
• Conducting month-end and year-end closures
• Assisting in the preparation of annual forecast and budgets
• Gathering information for internal auditors for the annual audit
• Preparing reports to understand data and the impact on business decisions
• Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working to improve financial processes
Requirements:
• Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
• 2+ years of experience in accounting
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Advanced use of Excel a must, SAP knowledge desirable
• Strong sense of teamwork
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Forecasting and budgeting experience a plus
