Job Description
Penguin Random House is looking to add a Senior EDI Business Analyst to join our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) team. We are searching for someone who works well in a fast-paced setting, and brings a strong customer-focused mindset. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining integration between cloud-based EDI applications. This position will assist in prioritizing and managing EDI projects through the full project lifecycle, perform as a functional lead of the EDI team, and resolve technical issues related to implementation and on-going client support needs. This position will report to the EDI Director.
Primary Responsibilities
• Build and maintain relationships with Penguin Random House trading partners and vendors
• Serve as a liaison to bridge gaps between internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor and document all EDI requests, work with the business and EDI Director to establish priorities
• Participate and/or lead weekly EDI meetings and monitor progress of active JIRA tickets in coordination with EDI Director
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and plan effective solutions
• Coordinate and collaborate with users and cross-functional development teams during the design and development of maps and processes
• Participate and assist in EDI staff training/mentoring
• Develop new and innovative approaches including implementing process improvements
• Develop and maintain relevant system and process documentation for new and existing processes
• Analyze EDI requirements with the onboarding of new accounts for EDI implementations
• Develop and deploy new EDI trading partnerships.
• Coordinate and test EDI implementations and changes with new and existing trading partners
• Validate, test and ensure compliance and accuracy of data
• Assist with production EDI issues, performing root cause analysis and in-depth troubleshooting to resolve technical issues
• Continually seek self-education in related systems by exploring current and new technologies
Qualifications
• 10+ years of related EDI experience, including production support
• Experience in a key EDI lead role with demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to work independently
• Proven ability to research, analyze, determine appropriate course of action
• Programming knowledge or proficiency with EDI mapping tools
• Proven experience with ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards
• Proven experience in various EDI communication methods (VAN, SFTP, FTP, AS2, Liaison VAN/OpenText, etc)
• Experience with SAP preferred, but not required
• Proven experience with IBM ITXA and Sterling B2B Integrator
• Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with JIRA or other project management/ticketing tools
• Professional written and oral communication skills
• Must be able communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
• Experience with IBM B2Bi Suite of applications or Sterling Integrator, highly preferred
• Experience with SAP integration, highly preferred
• Team player able to take direction and perform in a group setting as well as an individual contributor able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly learn organizational structure, business strategies and processes
• Publishing or media industry experience, a plus but not required
