If you love to mine data and discover audience insights that spark creative business solutions, the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Consumer Insights, to join the Audience Development team.

The Senior Manager, Consumer insights, will conduct title-level and author-level research using various qualitative and quantitative resources.

This role will require strong organizational skills and the ability to work with stakeholders to identify business-relevant research and insights. The day-to-day will involve working with syndicated data, primary survey-based research, and social media data. What is required is familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research techniques, an interest in understanding consumer behaviors and attitudes, and a passion for connecting readers to our many books, authors, and brands.

The position is part of the Knopf Doubleday Audience Development team and will report to the Executive Director. The analyst will have the opportunity to engage with editors, marketers, and publicists across Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, as well as analysts and researchers across the company's publishing divisions and corporate teams.

The Role:
• As the consumer insights lead for the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, collaborate with Knopf Doubleday stakeholders to understand key business needs and develop research, from author audience analysis to surveys or qualitative studies, in support of business priorities. Your insights will be crafted to inspire everything from whether we acquire a book project, how we develop our book packaging, and market to our readers
• Competently and comfortably use an array of analytics tools and data sets - syndicated data, primary survey-based research, and social media data--to tell stories about a wide range of audiences
• Present research to internal and external stakeholders with a focus on inspiring insights to action

The Essentials:
• A strong professional history synthesizing research into actionable insights for business users in consumer insights or data analysis roles. Publishing experience is a plus but not a requirement
• Client management or experience building stakeholder relationships across varied organizational roles
• Expert skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with various data and insights tools [including consumer intelligence tools, such as social listening tools (ex: Brandwatch), syndicated survey/audience data (ex: YouGov, SimilarWeb), visualization software (ex: Power BI)]
• A natural curiosity about consumer insight and data applications and adept at learning new tools
• Efficient precision when attention to detail is needed especially when working on multiple projects at one time
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication/writing skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to think critically about business needs
• Though consumer insights and data analysis experience in publishing is a plus, it is not required or needed to succeed in this role- initiative, innovation, project management, attention to detail, and communication skills are key
