Senior Manager, Events, Random House

The Random House Publishing Group Integrated Marketing and Publicity team is looking for a creative, strategic events manager and producer to lead our team! Events are an integral part of our consumer engagement strategy and are an important part of building direct relationships with readers and brand equity. As Senior Manager of Events, you will lead this charge, creating and executing bespoke and engaging experiences (currently primarily virtual) alongside a team of passionate book lovers and savvy marketers.

This is a collaborative role with high growth potential and is perfect for someone who can pair taking initiative with strong leadership skills to help drive business results. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and effective multi-tasker, managing multiple projects aimed towards four goals: book discovery and awareness, book sales, audience growth and category growth.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute both programmatic and bespoke experiences around books, authors and news topics of-the-moment. Own the process from event strategy and ideation through to final reporting, including all logistics and production in between
• Leverage your expertise to create opportunities for connection among consumers, booksellers, and internal PRH colleagues
• Collaborate with other teams to build out event strategy and promotion that drive awareness, acquisition, and sales
• Manage one direct report
• Analyze event performance and consumer engagement across various platforms
• Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in experiential marketing

Requirements:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in either event planning, event marketing, or consumer marketing
• Proficiency with event planning and streaming tools, such as Eventbrite, Zoom, and Vimeo
• Excellent project management, organizational and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to keep calm in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Creative mindset and love of reading a plus
• Though publishing experience is a plus, it is not required or needed to succeed in this role-initiative, innovation and leadership are key
