Job Description
Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, an imprint of Penguin Random House, is seeking a Marketing Associate to join their Creative Services Team. This new role will report to the Director of Creative Services, and provide support to the advertising and promotion department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves reading, is comfortable with numbers and data entry, and is interested in seeing firsthand how an ad/promo team operates within publishing.

Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group has long been known as a publisher of distinguished hardcover fiction and nonfiction. Recent and forthcoming authors include John Grisham, Gabrielle Zevin, Michelle Zauner, David Grann, Toni Morrison, Julia Child, Donna Tartt, Stephen King, James Baldwin, and Joan Didion.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Assisting the Director of Creative Services and Advertising Manager with advertising campaign management
• Tracking advertising campaign budgets and purchase orders
• Processing invoices
• Attending advertising planning meetings
• Assist with advertising reporting
• Sales conference coordination
• Other administrative support duties as needed

Requirements:
• 1-2 years of prior office or related experience
• A passion for books
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Problem-solving/troubleshooting skills a must
• Ability to learn new programs and adapt to change
• Attention to detail and facility with numbers/data

Technical skill requirements:
• Proficiency in Excel (i.e. working with pivot tables) and PowerPoint a must
• Familiarity with Airtable and Basecamp a plus
• Familiarity with Photoshop and/or Canva a plus
*This hybrid (3 days per week in-office) role is based in New York City and will require someone in commutable distance to assist with the processing and troubleshooting of invoices, and to assist with other essential in-person duties as needed.

The salary for this position is $53,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
