Accounts Receivable Associate

Job Description

The Bertelsmann Accounting Services, operating through Penguin Random House LLC. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Associate to join their team. This position can either be office based or remote.

Main Responsibilities:
• Daily on-line retrieval of bank deposit reports, updating & distribution of the cash receipts spreadsheet
• Daily cash application
• Daily review and research of electronic payments for posting and clearing
• Daily deposit of checks received in Westminster via scanning software
• Responsible for phone/email contact to customers regarding remit information
• E-mails to client contacts, or other departments, regarding coding of manual entries or inquiries
• Reviews and balances general ledger accounts for accuracy
• Handles in-house inquires by phone, email, or in person
• Handles all refunds processes
• Daily reconciling and handling of credit card entries, chargebacks and payments

Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of accounting courses/classes preferred

Professional experience / competencies / traits:
• 1-3 Years accounting experience preferred
• Basic Excel Skills – 75% or higher
• Strong math, computer and analytical skills
• PC Proficiency to include Word, Excel and Outlook
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to set priorities and manage daily workflow
• Organized and detail oriented
• Ability to effectively advise management of problems/issues
