Description
NBCUniversal is hiring an Associate, Editorial Metadata to join a driven team responsible for creating consumer-facing copy as as well as backend metadata powering core product features on platform. We are seeking a solutions-minded critical thinker and wordsmith guru with a penchant for all things taxonomy and entertainment. The ideal candidate will be adept at swiftly handling change in a constantly evolving industry.

Joining our Editorial Creative team, this position requires solid understanding of journalistic standards, strong familiarity with the broad entertainment landscape, fluency in metadata and content management systems, and the ability to support the day-to-day editorial needs of our content workflow. With a focus on Peacock's international expansion, this role will support editorial solutions with both internal and external partners to ensure the timely delivery and accurate representation of metadata across our burgeoning library.

The ideal candidate will provide copywriting, copyediting, content classification, and keyword tagging efforts to support the long-form film and series metadata delivery cadence. Additionally, this role will collaborate with a wider team of like-minded film and television nerds to support the review, optimization, and creation of additional copy and metadata leveraged across platform editorial, from creative collection names to short-form trailer descriptions and more. The successful candidate will be a content omnivore with information systems and metadata optimization experience, a strong eye for detail and quality assurance, the ability to appropriately modulate tone, overall organizational prowess, and a passion for creatively supporting on-screen and off-screen metadata presentation.

Qualifications/Requirements
• 1+ years editorial metadata optimization, copywriting, or proofreading experience
• 1+ years supporting projects on digital platforms
• Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation, in-person, virtual); must be willing to complete a copywriting and proofreading test
• Ability to write in a wide variety of styles within variations of branding, tone, and technical guidelines (linguistic aptitude beyond English is a plus)
• The ability to operate independently and manage an ever-changing content pipeline 7 days a week in a high-pressure environment, including concurrently handling a high volume of time-sensitive requests and projects with shifting priorities
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, extended hours or holidays as needed
• Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to navigate a variety of digital tools such as Airtable, Slack, and Microsoft Teams
• Experience working within content management systems (CMS) and other metadata management tools
• Creativity to invent, optimize, and support complex, scalable, and iterative cross-functional workflows and processes
• Excellent collaborative, interpersonal and intercultural skills with the ability to work flexibly across departments in support of internal and external partnerships within a dynamic, internationally-oriented environment

Desired Characteristics
• Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Film, Library & Information Science, or related field of study
• A passion for film and television
• Experience using remote communication tools such as Outlook, Slack, Zoom, Airtable, Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, and Google Suite
• Writing and editing ability in additional languages (Polish or Dutch a plus)
• Familiarity with metadata aggregation service specifications for Gracenote
• Working knowledge of MVPD, OTT, and SVOD publishing procedures, administration protocols, and industry trends
• Strong comfort level with taxonomy and metadata management best practices
• Ability to work at Universal Studios, Los Angeles, California
• Ability to travel as needed
