Position Title: Print and Digital Media Producer (Hybrid)

Department: Creative Services

Corporate Area: Marketing and Digital

Status: Full-time/Regular/Exempt

Supervisor: Senior Director, Creative Services

Position Overview:

PBS' Creative Services team produces marketing assets (e.g., video promos, digital ads, social media graphics, print ads) for the PBS Brand, member stations, and General Audience Programming; as well as internal/corporate communications projects.

The Print and Digital Producer supports the team by managing print and static digital projects of all sizes. The Print and Digital Producer manages projects from initial planning to final distribution and publishing.
Once assigned a project, the producer liases with clients, creates project schedules, works with internal designers and/or vendors as they create iterative work, keeps projects on schedule and on budget, clearly communicates project status with clients and stakeholders, manages the review and approval process, and delivers finished items to spec. Project types include promotional key art, digital paid marketing campaigns, static promotional banners for digital content and social platforms, corporate reports and brochures, printed and digital corporate messages, etc.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Meet with clients and vendors to establish project objectives, expectations and timelines

• Create and manage project calendars and budgets

• Schedule and facilitate creative meetings

• Consult with internal designers or contract/hire external vendors

• Supervise the creation of designs, ensuring that the plans stay within the clients' specifications and budget requirements

• Negotiate pricing with external design firms, marketing vendors, printers, and photographers

• Ensure that materials are produced to established technical specs

• Negotiate and coordinate image rights clearances

• Oversee pre-press operations on all print projects; maintain quality control on all projects

• Examine proofs for typographical errors and conformance to specs submitted to the printer

• Lead the work through internal and external reviews, revisions, and approvals

• Record project milestones in department's project tracking system

• Upon approval, make sure finished works from designer or outside vendor are to spec, and delivered correctly

• Help keep department's best-practices current, as real-world specs evolve

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements for success:
• Two or more years print and digital production experience, preferably at an ad agency, content marketer, design firm or print shop.

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Advertising and Public Relations, or equivalent work experience

• Must be extremely well-organized with excellent attention to detail

• Must thrive in a creative, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Must be able to establish production schedules and ensure that deadlines are met and work is performed on-budget

• Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity simultaneously

• Proficiency at managing external vendors and freelancers

• Knowledge of commercial design and printing processes, preparing mechanical files for printing, reviewing and correcting proofs

• Knowledge of Mac OS, Microsoft Office suite, Slack; familiarity with Airtable a plus

• Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.
