Overview and Responsibilities

The CBS Studios Controllership team is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant that is a self-starter and team player. Ideal candidate must be detailed oriented, organized, capable of working well within a fast-paced deadline driven environment. This position will partner closely with the other areas in Studios and other divisions. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
• Prepare journal entries with supporting backup, ensuring proper coding is utilized and transaction are accurately explained and supported
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end CBS Corporate and SEC reporting requirements
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with quarterly internal / external audit requests
• Work with manager with monthly flash reporting and analysis
• Assist team in ensuring the timeliness of the general ledger close for month-end & quarter-end
• Track and record episode deliveries for revenue recognition
• Apply cash and or intercompany receipts to billing system and miscellaneous revenues
• Assist with accounting and financial reporting system implementation
• Support the manager with ad-hoc projects as requested

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, with 1-2+ years of comprehensive accounting experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and able to learn other software applications

Additional Qualifications:
• Experience within Entertainment Industry is preferred
• Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of GAAP
• Knowledge of Oracle and or SAP highly desirable
• Attention to detail, time management and strong organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work proactively, independently and in a constantly changing environment
