Overview and Responsibilities

The Paramount Tax Department is actively seeking a Senior Analyst to bolster our Company's production tax incentives function. Reporting directly to the Vice President–Tax Counsel, this role will play a pivotal part in supporting the entire tax incentive lifecycle, including pre-production planning, estimating tax credits during production, conducting internal audits of records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities Include:
• Assist with tax accounting work related to film incentives on a quarterly basis, which includes balance sheet classification, timing of journal entries and understanding of federal gain rules
• Input and review information on our online credit tracking program (Incentify) and extract necessary reports
• The Senior Analyst may assist with some US SALT compliance work, which may include preparing quarterly state tax estimates and preparing state and local corporate income tax returns
• Analyze and research when certain credits can/will be used on state and local tax returns
• Perform some organizational tasks such as managing documents related to transferable tax credit investment deals and interacting with brokers
• Analyze show budgets and extract necessary information to prepare reports
• Sort and analyze general ledgers using Excel
• Prepare reports and schedules from data sets using Excel
• Review cast/crew residency and expense information for internal audit

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or pertinent Finance field is required
• 4 to 5 years, or more of state and local tax compliance/consulting experience. Some credits and incentives experience is preferred but not required.

Additional Qualifications
• Must be proficient in Excel – familiar with formulas such as vlookup and sumif
• Ability to work with multiple managers on different projects concurrently
• Capacity to coordinate professionally with other departments such as legal and production finance, as well as with outside parties such as tax credit brokers and government agencies
• Track record of working independently and maintaining accountability in a hybrid work environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $74,400.00 - 93,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
