Job Description

Overview and Responsibilities

Responsible for the accurate and timely accounting and reporting of Media Networks transactions related to Programming and Production.
• Detailed review and comprehension of programming contracts and related accounting of assets, liabilities, and amortization
• Prepare original programming quarterly review schedules for management meetings with Content Finance
• Review original programming ultimates to ensure appropriate accounting reflected in financial statements
• Prepare quarterly programming disclosures and earnings book support schedules
• Programming overhead accounting tasks
• Prepare quarterly OEFC accrual and monthly OEFC reconciliations to ensure financial statement accuracy
• Preparation of programming specific reconciliations and schedules for quarterly balance sheet packages
• Ability to identify areas for process improvements as it relates to programming
• Review of quarterly programming rollforwards, key schedules, and reconciliations
• Prepare metrics to identify risks/opportunities in programming assets and liabilities in timely manner
• Prepare analyses to substantiate participations and residuals accrual balances
• Prepare and/or review monthly programming journal entries.
• Work directly with Content Finance and operational teams as it relates to programming transactions
• Work as a liaison between the Global Business Services and the Content Finance team
• Assist with ad hoc management requests, including: interacting with PricewaterhouseCoopers and the quarterly/yearly audit requests and other general departmental support
• Ensure that all key programming controls are in place and functioning properly in accordance with internal policies and procedures and Sarbanes Oxley rules and regulations

Basic Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3-4 years relevant work experience
• Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles, concepts and processes
• Team player with the ability to work with and communicate with people at different levels within the organization
• Demonstrate the ability to perform effective workload prioritization and management
• Demonstrate the ability to be a self starter and take initiative and follow through
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to be thorough with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills (oral, written & listening)

Additional Requirements
• CPA (or equivalent) a plus
• Prior entertainment & media experience a plus
• Experience in Longview and SAP a plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $72,900.00 - 105,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
