Principal Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

Overview and Responsibilities:

Paramount Tech is hiring a Principal Infrastructure Engineer. This individual to be part of a team that is focused on driving our global media supply chain from legacy on-prem systems to the cloud. The person should be highly competent with AWS and its core compute, storage and micro services. Individuals with any broadcast background are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include:
• Researching and developing future-state solutions and onboard new technologies that enhance and optimize the cloud infrastructure stack for media ingest and delivery
• Delivering highly secure cloud solutions.
• Developing highly resilient AWS based solutions that account for failures within the technology stack and the region
• Developing reusable Cloud formation templates and Terraform modules with a good understanding of cloud, scalability, security, etc.
• Working closely with other infrastructure teams to determine standards and guidelines for current and new technologies in the cloud
• Implementing security strategies with our InfoSec and Cloud Architecture teams
• Evaluating of new technologies and developing documentation and standards for future use
• Challenging the status quo, and suggesting improvements

Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years' experience with AWS, LINUX, and WINDOWS, and strong experience implementing security guidelines along with practical experience in monitoring for compliance.
• Solid knowledge with a scripting language such as Cloudformation, Terraform, Serverless, Powershell, Python, or equivalent
• Be able to lead projects, to think creatively to devise solutions for complex problems, and to think critically about a problem and visualize various scenarios for an outcome.

Additional Qualifications:
• AWS Transit Gateway experience with Aviatrix Cloud Network Platform or similar
• AWS Security experience leveraging security groups, NACL's, etc.
• Palo Alto Firewall Administration within an AWS environment or equivalent
• AWS Direct Connect experience
• In depth knowledge of VPC's, subnets, routing tables and virtual interfaces.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $155,000.00 - 170,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
