Job Description
As the Manager, you will assist in financial oversight and management of the budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking activities for Paramount Brands' bicoastal Tentpoles and Events on linear and non-linear platforms. You will collaborate with department heads in Programming Finance, Production Management, and various internal departments with regards to accounting and financial overview for all production and network analysis as well as the growth, development, and training of staff. Paramount is seeking a Manager to join the Television Participation Department. The department handles contractual reporting to co-production partners and third-party participants on shows produced and distributed by CBS, Paramount, and Showtime. The Television Participation Department provides a phenomenal opportunity to learn the television industry from initial production to global distribution of the television products!Overview & Responsibilties
• Prepare and review contractual accounting statements to talent and producers.
• Coordinate the talent agreements and prepare agreement abstracts for first time participation statements.
• Identify problems during the preparation process and develop creative solution to resolve issues.
• Apply various systems and ledgers across the company.
• Research and draw relationships between various complex deals.
• Communicate effectively with various departments and management to acquire required information.
• Review, analyze and give feedback of work submitted by peers
• Support management by completing various ad hoc projects
• Liaise with IT to test and implement upgrades within the company's systems
• Conduct various training and developmental exercises
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required, a focus in Accounting, Finance, or related area preferred
• 5+ years of work experience related to participations or television distributions is preferred
Additional Qualifications
• Strong analytical skills are required to analyze financial data.
• Proficient in general accounting principles. Must understand and know how to read ledgers.
• Proficient in MS Excel (i.e.: build formulas, pivot tables and v-lookups).
• Be able to coordinate and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Must be a self-starter and work independently.
• Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting legal agreements.
