The 5 creative team make the marketing campaigns to launch all of these excellent new shows, as well as building the overall brand identities of all the channels and platforms that sit under the 5 umbrella.

What will you be doing?

A key role within the Channel 5 creative / marketing department, the Head of Art & Design will lead a team of staff and freelance designers with responsibility for every design asset crafted, ensuring consistency across all platforms and touchpoints. We want all of our artwork to stand out and cut through wherever our audience encounters it, be that on our streaming platform, on TV, on magazine covers, in press articles, online, in social feeds or on massive billboards.

Mastery crafting artwork for all campaign touchpoints is required, including print / digital out of home, performance marketing, on air and social. As well as experience as a senior brand guardian, it's important to be dedicated to creating and maintaining style guides and ensuring they are understood and adhered to by everyone who works on the brand.

Deep knowledge of the current media landscape and engagement with all projects with the bigger picture in mind is necessary. As well as a strategic approach to producing artwork that will work for specific audiences and for use across all the different touchpoints of a campaign.

You will head up design projects with internal teams and external agencies, so excellent communication is key.

The role will include art directing still photography shoots and the creation of key art, as well as leading motion graphics and branding projects.

You will work with creatives and producers to ensure all assets are delivered to the highest creative standard, providing visual mentorship on every project, ensuring all output is delivered on time and to budget.

In short, you will be able to direct design work to a very high standard across all touchpoints and will have a significant impact on the art & design output from the overall creative department.

What are we looking for?
• Extensive experience in all stages of the design process for multiplatform campaigns from ideation and pitching through to execution and delivery
• Expertise leading design teams and developing talent
• Comprehensive experience art directing stills shoots and getting the best results from designers and retouchers throughout the post production process
• Proficiency working across mainstream design software including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as a strong understanding of 2D / 3D motion graphics software and workflows
• Ability to bring teams together and improve both the workflows and the creative quality of a team's output
• Extensive knowledge and ability to work to marketing briefs, shaping ideas to fit the brief and always able to flex and adapt to partner feedback
• Strongly committed to collaboration and working as part of a wider team
• Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload
• Always keen to take the initiative and look for ways to improve processes and workflows
• Used to working in a fast-paced environment with multiple colleagues
• Able to work within tight budgets and timeframes whilst still delivering creative brilliance
• Outstanding portfolio of work demonstrating all of the above
