Accountant, Revenue Accounting, CBS

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic Revenue Accountant who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment for a constantly evolving international industry! You will report to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager within the CBS Interactive Revenue Team. You will be responsible for providing support across Paramount Global digital and streaming business units on the accounting of revenue recognition, contract review, and order processing functions. We seek an accountant that is tech savvy, dedicated, analytical, and thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Overview and Responsibilities
• Ensure revenue recognition is booked accurately, timely, and in compliance with SOX controls and GAAP standards
• Month-end close activities for revenue recognition including but not limited to journal entries, revenue calculations and accruals
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Work with Sales and Client Services teams to ensure the proper setup of sales orders
• Research and respond to inquiries from Sales and Client Service teams on revenue variances related to media orders
• Resolve the sales order data ingest exceptions and ensure the order details are accurately ingested into Oracle for revenue recognition
• Work closely with Sales and Client Service partners for ad hoc training and process improvements
• Provide ongoing guidance to the Sales team and business operations on revenue recognition issues, such as identifying and addressing the cause of any adverse revenue recognition impact
• Download and validate Paramount+ subscription sales reports from the partner portals and compare to the Oracle subscription orders
• Assist with quarterly SOX audits, internal audit, and external audit requests
• Participate in ad-hoc revenue analysis and accounting projects as needed

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years accounting experience
• Oracle R12 or major ERP experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)

Additional Qualifications
• Advertising media and/ or streaming services industry experience is a plus
• Experience with foreign currency transactions a plus
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties with accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to successfully lead time and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
• Working autonomously as well as a member of a team
• Operative One, Salesforce, and/or Recurly experience a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and verbal communication skills
