CBS Studios Controllership team is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant that is a self-starter and a standout colleague! You are detailed oriented, organized, capable of working well within a fast paced deadline driven environment. This position will partner closely with the other areas in Studios and other divisions.
Overview and Responsibilities:
• Assist team with monthly, quarterly & annual deliverables (residual accounts reconciliation, inventory cash reckless reconciliation, cash balances reconciliation, stale dated report reconciliation, miscellaneous support schedules for 10K, etc)
• Prepare monthly journal entries (intercompany journals, cash journals, legal journals, fixed asset journals, residual journals, budgetary allocation journals, etc.)
• Investigate and resolve SOX/audit findings, and account discrepancies
• Maintain documentation for accounts payable and other support needed by SOX & auditors
• Support team with IBM Cognos DW2 analytics related to various GL accounts as needed
• Process stop payments with Production finance team
• Contribute to the development of new accounting systems, programs, and procedures (adoption of new ERP & other corporate accounting systems)
• Ensure compliance with GAAP financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations as mandated
• Perform ad-hoc research and analysis as required

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance with at least 2+ years of experience in finance / accounting
• Proficient PC skills in Windows environment (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, self-starter, phenomenal teammate
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements:
• Knowledge of Oracle, SAP and other accounting systems highly desirable
• Entertainment experience a plus, but not required
