VP, Content Strategy & Marketing (P+ Originals)
Paramount+, a direct-to-consumer digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service from Paramount Global, combines live sports, breaking news, and a mountain of entertainment. The premium streaming service features an expansive library of original series, hit shows and popular movies across every genre from world-renowned brands and production studios, including BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures and the Smithsonian Channel. The service is also the streaming home to unmatched sports programming, including every CBS Sports event, from golf to football to basketball and more, plus exclusive streaming rights for major sports properties, including some of the world's biggest and most popular soccer leagues. Paramount+ also enables subscribers to stream local CBS stations live across the US in addition to the ability to stream Paramount Streaming's other live channels: CBSN for 24/7 news, CBS Sports HQ for sports news and analysis, and ET Live for entertainment coverage.
Overview:
The Content Strategy & Marketing team within the Marketing, Data & Operations organization is charged with managing the digital brand integrity around Paramount+ programming with a focus around Paramount+ Scripted Original Series and Movies. We are at the cross-section of several functions, including (but not limited to) production, development, product, PR, distribution, operations, marketing and creative teams to drive content strategy, brand awareness and value around our growing pipeline of award-winning Paramount+ Originals across multiple consumer touch points anchored around our Paramount+ subscription streaming service. We also partner with third-party platforms and producers to improve our digital products and services!
Role and Responsibilities:
We are searching for an experienced digital content leader/executive to oversee content planning and scheduling of Paramount+ Scripted Originals and other content crafted for (or licensed for) the Paramount+ service. We're looking for someone who is passionate about media, is proficient in streaming analytics, has remarkable relationship management skills and is interested in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position is charged with growing and leading a team of content strategists, building and encouraging relationships with the show/creator community, as well as with the ViacomCBS portfolio of brand partners to deliver innovative creative materials and initiatives designed to support Paramount+'s growing slate of scripted Original Series. The Vice President will also serve as the brand ambassador for Paramount+ Original Series in their representation across digital platforms including web, mobile, apps, social media and OTT. The role requires a unique combination of expertise across subject areas, most importantly, content strategy and relationship management.
Day-to-day:
• Lead the asset lifecycle of content and interactive features for relevant shows
• Help to set go to market plan and promotions for new and renewed show launches
• Lead show support brainstorms
• Lead all aspects of prioritization and planning of all promotional activity around Paramount+ shows
• Work with sales and integrated marketing teams to build, package and implement sponsor features tied to shows
• Obtain all necessary approvals and clearances to execute promotional and/or content plans
• Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Key Projects:
• 10+ Paramount+ Original show launches per year
• Upfront sales and launch partnerships for original programming
Basic Qualification:
• 10+ years in a strategic marketing, planning or content development role for streaming services, television, feature film or interactive media
• Bachelor's Degree
• Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage complex projects across diverse groups or organizations
• Excellent multi-tasking and project management skills with strong attention to detail
• A self-starter, entrepreneurial attitude who can juggle multiple tasks with limited support staff
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly with senior executives and external partners
• Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
Additional Qualification:
• Subscription VOD service experience
• Ability to easily interact and work with television production personnel
• Diverse experience and skills across creative, project management, product and data/metrics
• Experience using Asana, Jira, project management tools
• Comfort managing multiple projects at once in a high-pressure environment
