Scope of Job: Paramount+ is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive Smart TV application development, who encompasses strong technical knowledge with extensive experience in designing and developing scalable systems. The role will be hands-on and contribute to the global Paramount+ Smart TV platform development and instrumentation. We're a team that values software that exemplifies simplicity of design, maintainability, extensibility, and foundational robustness.

Responsibilities:
• Design, build and support high-performance, scalable and innovative components
• Develop and optimize high-performance Smart TV applications
• Live and breathe availability, reliability, and scalability
• Demonstrate strong communication skills to lead through all aspects of the development cycle
• Partner with our central video engineering teams to build, integrate and deploy high-performance video players
• Work with our external partners to develop, debug and deploy applications
• Help build a culture of good engineering processes and practices
• Work closely with other engineers and product teams to meet fixed deadlines
• Work in all phases of software development

Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience actively entrenched in engineering
• Expert command of distributed microservice architectures and the following technologies
• JavaScript, CSS, React, Git, Webpack
• Solid understanding of OOP principles
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
• Extensive experience engineering solutions from concept to delivery
• Extensive experience in various debugging and optimization techniques
• Experience working in CI/CD environments with devops and SRE principles
• Demonstrate attention to detail, have a positive attitude, willingness to learn, be challenged and take pride in the quality of work
• Passionate about video and video services
• BA/BS degree in a related technical field such as Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
• Working knowledge of WebGL is desirable but not required
• Experience working in Agile frameworks
• Previous experience working in distributed teams
• Redux
• Typescript
• Experience performing load test and strategies to monitor application health
• Rapid proof-of-concept experience
