Brand Overview:

The team for Paramount+ is responsible for servicing ViacomCBS's premium online content around the world. We're home to exclusive original shows (Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek Discovery, The Good Fight, Twilight Zone) and also help millions of viewers consume and enjoy content across all of ViacomCBS's global brands (such as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Smithsonian, MTV, BET, etc).

Role Details:

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineering Manager with a background in mobile applications to lead the build, release, and engineering automation team for our Paramount+ and CBS mobile and OTT apps. This team also collaborates and provides support for development engineers of Mobile Engineering. This role has the opportunity to guide the continued success of this team and enhance the video streaming experience of our large and expanding mobile customer base.

Your Day-to-Day:
• Manage team of build and automation engineers
• Act as technical leader for team
• Help formulate strategy and roadmaps for team
• Help identify and resolve daily issues and blockers
• Architect and help implement various build, release, and automation solutions
• Encourage and ensure team completes their goals on time
• Improve monitoring systems and use data to help drive decisions
• Continuous discovery and implementation of emerging technologies
• Recommend industry best-practices for continuous improvement
• Communicate with stakeholders about team implementations, challenges and successes
• Work closely with other Mobile Engineering scrum teams and partner with Product, Project Management, Quality, and Design departments
• Ensure Apple and Android apps get built and deployed into the app stores in a timely manner (according to schedule)
• Make sure there is timely engineering automation coverage of all Apple and Android apps (iOS, tvOS, Android mobile, Android TV, Facebook Portal TV)
• Define and help team manage sanity, smoke, and regression automation testing suites for execution on proper builds (pull-requests, nightly, on-demand, feature, and release)
• Help maintain the build server and device farm infrastructure
• Expand and manage the app beta testing program
• Review and help team provide proper documentation for solutions and processes
• Log, manage, and track user issues and cases
• In addition to functional, help team to develop and maintain other types of automated testing suites (performance, security/penetration, video, data)
• Additional other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

• Paramount+ and CBS apps for Apple and Android mobile and OTT platforms

What you bring to the team:

You have -
• Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of work experience in similar roles
• 2+ years experience managing a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to architect and deploy on-premise and cloud infrastructures
• Continuous Build & Release Automation experience
• Programming skills using languages such as Python, Unix/Linux, or Ruby
• Experience with Jenkins and/or XCode build servers
• Automation testing experience using XCUITest (Apple) or Espresso (Android)
• Working knowledge of languages such as Swift, Kotlin, or Java
• Experience with security concerns related to public software applications
• Worked using Agile development process
• Understand white and grey-box automation testing for Apple and/or Android apps
• Background in identifying risks and errors in applications
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs to connect with back-end services
• Well-rounded interpersonal skills; able to work well with non-technical members of the development team
• Remain current on emerging trends in related sector
• Knowledge of behavior driven development

You might also have -
• Masters degree in Computer Science or management degree
• Supported the integration of rich media assets, including video, into mobile properties
• Integrated serving products and analytics/reporting tools within Apple and Android clients
• Experience working with entertainment, games, news, or sports-related properties
• Understand of streaming video, security, OAuth, and DRM concepts
