Role Details

Paramount+ seeks a director of engineering in observability for online television and media focused web properties. In this role, you will support our diverse infrastructure and kubernetes platform that serves our streaming products within the cloud. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned leader to manage a wide range of existing technology with an opportunity to improve observability, scalability and reliability of our systems. You thrive on dashboards, observability, automation, self healing, performance, high availability & uptime. You love systems that are well run and enjoy creating systems that are reliable, documented and monitored across multiple metrics. You have experience with being on-call and thrive on ownership and systems

Your Day-to-Day
• Lead the design & implementation of our public Cloud infrastructure including observability,, provisioning, performance, capacity planning, sizing, and Infrastructure as code
• Focus on leading performance technology stack
• Build a sustainable and scalable monitoring and alerting process
• Support our development teams across multiple environments in an AGILE environment
• Build and manage infrastructure at large scale
• Additional other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Key Projects
• Lead the build out of observability best-practices
• Give the organization insight into as much as possible
• Evaluate upcoming technologies and help decide build vs buy
• Enhance existing monitoring, logging and alerting systems
• Work with the executive staff and development teams to provide key insights

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 9+ years running logging, monitoring and alerting systems
• 5+ years of building, retaining and leading observability or engineering teams
• 3+ years using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, NewRelic, Datadog and similar tools
• 3+ years' using logging tools like ELK, StackDriver etc.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
• Demonstrated ability to work with 3rd parties and collaborate on solutions

Additional Qualifications
• Past experience working on public clouds like AWS or GCP
• Scripting or Programming experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $156,000.00 - 220,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
