The Counsel position will be an integral part of the Legal Affairs team and will provide day-to-day legal affairs services for Paramount Brand Studios and Paramount Television Studios. This person will handle the negotiation and drafting of a heavy volume of agreements for sponsored content, including product integrations and custom content, as well as original programming.

Responsibilities include:
• Drafting and negotiating joint promotion agreements, sponsor integration agreements, and various production agreements (e.g., production services agreements, talent agreements, location releases).
• Collaborating closely with senior management, Marketing, Ad Sales, and other internal teams on a wide range of projects and deals.
• Managing production-related legal matters.
• Reviewing and approving legal contracts for execution by management.
• Overseeing contract administration and ensuring compliance.
• Preparing contract summaries and assisting with special projects as requested by senior Legal Affairs executives.
• Providing on-site coverage for original programming, as needed.
• Advising internal teams on legal risk, clearance issues, and deal structure for sponsored content and original programming.
• Performing other day-to-day Legal Affairs-related tasks as needed and as assigned by senior Legal Affairs executives.
• Ability to manage a high volume of deals simultaneously while meeting tight production and marketing deadlines.
Basic qualifications:
• A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience at a marketing or ad sales agency, network, studio, entertainment law firm, or production company.
• Admitted to the New York Bar or able to qualify as Registered In-House Counsel.
• Exceptional negotiating, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of television industry agreements, contract law and intellectual property rights, demonstrated ability to conduct legal research, analysis and reasoning.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and client relations skills.
Desired qualifications:
• Familiarity with marketing and ad sales.
• Self-starter who can manage and successfully complete deals, in some cases with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to craft innovative, business-oriented solutions and assist in executing them.
• Ability to work collaboratively (including across various departments), think practically, and use sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $139,500.00 - 174,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary Details
Salary Range: $139,500 to $174,000 Per Year ($ USD)
