OVERVIEW

National Public Media (NPM) is seeking a temporary Marketing Manager for parental leave coverage, August to March 2021.

This senior position has a strategic focus on website support, marketing material development & design, and optimization of department systems. Reporting to NPM's VP of Marketing, the Marketing Manager, Design & Operations directly supervises a Marketing Associate, and works closely with a collaborative team fueling the mission of public media.

National Public Media is NPR's sponsorship subsidiary, the exclusive sponsorship representative for the NPR network and designs multi-market campaigns with public media stations around the country.

The ideal candidate exhibits both creativity and technical skills, and has management experience. Successful candidates will be organized, detail oriented, proactive and collaborative.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage strategic updates, ongoing maintenance and technical support to company website (com), to ensure the site is an effective lead generation tool for NPM and a robust resource for the NPM sales teams and NPM clients
• Strategically advise on and manage the team's suite of resources – including, but not limited to, sales presentations, research toolkits, onesheets, presentation templates, and case studies – across the NPM materials library
• Advise on concepting and development of new web pages, articles, and materials and review final content and formatting to ensure they meet quality standards
• Provide art direction and design assistance to the Department for video production, trade advertising creative, email communications and other creative projects
• Keep current on new sponsorship products, positioning needs and available data by collaborating with Digital Operations, Creative, Sales and Audience Insights teams in order to develop new marketing assets and update existing materials and resources
• Work closely with the two Senior Marketing Managers and VP of Marketing in support of the department's overall strategies, initiatives and campaigns
• Support and advise one direct report, a Marketing Associate

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, or equivalent experience

REQUIRED SKILLS
• 8+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, design or related fields
• Experience managing, advising, and supporting team members and working with diverse teams
• Ability to manage project timelines and budgets
• Experience developing creative activations for marketing materials, ad campaigns, websites, videos and/or print
• Familiarity with design principles and best practices; demonstrated ability to provide creative direction and feedback on style and formatting
• Working knowledge of website best practices
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading ability
• Ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion
• Familiarity with audience research, particularly interpreting data points
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team in a collegial and collaborative environment

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Enthusiasm for public media and/or purpose-driven brands
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as PowerPoint and Google Slides
• Experience working with Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics & Tag Manager, Wordpress or other website CMS, web hosting platforms, Trello or similar project management tool, and research databases such as comScore, Nielsen, GfK MRI are all pluses
