Job Title: Music Royalty Auditor

Reports To: Audit Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Royalty Audit

Summary: Excellent opportunity for a royalty audit professional. We are seeking a highly motivated auditor with three to five years of experience to join our music royalty audit practice.

The auditor will be responsible for overseeing the execution of royalty compliance procedures of record labels and publishers on behalf of our diverse client base which includes numerous artists and songwriters. Additional responsibilities will include auditing and documenting royalties for completeness, analyzing expense data, assessing contracts for potential claims and the preparation of a report of findings. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required as well as the ability to work with others.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Oversee the audit process for several record label and publishing audits
• Analysis of license agreements and royalty statements
• Perform detail tests of an auditee’s books and records as deemed necessary on each audit
• Identification of underreported royalties
• Identification of excess expenses
• Review of contracts and licenses to ensure that reported royalties are accurate
• Communicate effectively with clients and third parties
• Audit planning and conducting fieldwork procedures
• Drafting audit reports
• Supervision of staff

Education / Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of royalty audit experience required in the music industry, with 1 year of supervisory experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business required
