Storyboard Artist (2D Action-Adventure/Fantasy Series)

Summary:

2D Action-Adventure/Fantasy project looking for a talented Storyboard Artist to join our team. Must have interest and drawing ability in Anime. Heavy action boarding experience is desired as well as strong figure drawing skills and cinematic storytelling.

Responsibilities:
• Meet with creative supervisors to discuss objectives of storyboard; what is desired or to be achieved.
• Create storyboards by implementing storytelling objectives.
• Follow instructions of creative supervisors.
• Address any problems with creative supervisors; ask necessary questions.
• Communicate progress of work to creative supervisors and to appropriate production staff.
• Ensure quality and style of show is consistently achieved in storyboard work.
• Follow proper document management requirements (i.e., file naming and storage) according to the production's guidelines.
• Meet all deadlines as determined by Line Producer or Associate Producer.
• Attend and contribute to relevant meetings and pitches as needed.
• Maybe be required to pitch Storyboards.
• Ensure all storyboard notes are added.
• Be diligent in using provided reference for boarding.
• Handle revisions as needed.

Qualifications:
• Must demonstrate proficiency in style of show.
• Strong figure drawing and mechanical skills.
• Strong staging and composition skills.
• Ability to interpret the script.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn applicable design software (Photoshop, Storyboard Pro) and hardware (Wacom Cintiq monitor and/or tablet).
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to multitask a plus.
• Relevant drawing experience necessary.
• BA/BS preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year storyboard experience and/or training on a similar show; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Heavy action boarding experience.
• Blender experience a plus.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Weekly Hiring Salary Range: $2373.6 - 2450.0.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
