Job Description
The Director of Music and Entertainment is responsible for leading the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of high-profile music performances and partnerships across major tent-pole league events. This role ensures seamless collaboration with artists, labels, and internal stakeholders to deliver culturally impactful and logistically sound live music experiences.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the internal planning of music performances at major events and o versee music programming and talent curation for sports-related activations, halftime shows, and festival-style performances.
• Manage end-to-end music strategy across live events, sports programming, and branded entertainment platforms.
• Manage relationships with key external partners to deliver high-caliber performances during our regular season games, playoffs and major events.
• Secure high-profile artists and exclusive music content under tight timelines, leveraging deep industry relationships.
• Oversee music licensing and clearance processes to ensure legal compliance and creative flexibility.
• Support club-level initiatives by sourcing talent and advising on music integration strategies.
• Develop and lead educational seminars for clubs on artist engagement, licensing, and music industry navigation.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including Sponsorship, Broadcasting, Consumer Products, International and Marketing, to align music strategy with league goals.
• Drive the artist strategy for the NFL Draft, International Games and NFL tentpole events to identify and secure talent that resonates with both the local market and global audience.
• Work with our production partners across international games and domestic events on all aspects of performance production.
• Develop and execute music plans that align with brand goals, audience insights, and platform-specific engagement strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, marketing, talent, legal, and external music partners.
• Drive artist partnerships, label/studio negotiations, and performance integrations across live and digital experiences.
• Work closely with PR, broadcast, digital, and social teams to optimize music use in content across all channels.
• Stay current on music trends, industry shifts, and talent pipelines relevant to sports, pop culture, and live entertainment.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Event s Management , Music Business or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in music event production or the entertainment industry.
• 5 years of management experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of executing large-scale live music events with top-tier artists.
• Strong understanding of music licensing, rights management, and industry standards.
• Deep understanding of festival-style and sports music production, including stage/show flow, crowd dynamics, and artist logistics .
• Proven track record in music rights management, including sync, performance, and master clearances for social media, digital, and broadcast re-airs.
• Strong knowledge of labels, publishers, and PRO (Performing Rights Organization) landscapes.
• Experience negotiating music deals with artists, managers, agents, and rights holders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with shifting priorities.
• Excellent communication, creative problem-solving, and project management skills.

Travel
• Significant domestic and international travel is required .
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
• NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week . Roles within the events group require longer stays during event/game delivery and include weekends
Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$125,000 - $165,000 USD
At the NFL, in-person work at our offices is a top priority because it allows us to collaborate more effectively, build stronger connections, and maintain the culture that drives our success. This role requires onsite presence at an NFL office or stadium location, and remote and/or hybrid working options are not offered.
