Job Description
The NFL Media group, located in Inglewood, CA across from SoFi Stadium, is seeking a Director of Content Strategy & Audience Development. This role is tasked with supporting the development and execution of content strategies that engage and grow our audience across NFL-operated platforms. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with meaningful experience at a major media brand, with a deep understanding of the digital media landscape, a passion for sports storytelling, and the ability to propose and implement impactful content experiences that resonate with NFL fans. This individual will play an important role in shaping the future of NFL Media's content offerings, working closely with NFL senior leadership, NFL content distribution partners, and the 32 NFL teams.
Responsibilities
• Help develop a holistic NFL Media content & distribution plan that maximizes audience engagement and revenue opportunities
• Collaborate with multiple NFL departments, including Production, Media Strategy, Product, Marketing, and Business Development to implement effective and efficient fan engagement strategies
• Directly contribute to the growth of key digital platforms, including the NFL's presence on YouTube, the NFL Podcast network, and Free Ad Supported TV
• Produce impactful insights via analysis of the current sports and entertainment media ecosystem, and identify new trends and strategies that can incorporated into NFL Media planning
• Contribute to the NFL Media business planning process, weekly/monthly/quarterly performance analysis, and partner platform QBRs
• Work closely with the Business Development team to manage and grow existing content partnerships
• Identify new content partnership opportunities with media brands or production companies, particularly brands that intersect with sports and/or sports fandom
• Provide strategic insights and operational support for NFL departments and NFL Club media teams
• Guide and develop junior professionals on the NFL business, key skill requirements and career development
• Cultivate positive group culture and processes to foster high performance, efficient processes and professional development
Required Qualifications
• At minimum, Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in content strategy, digital marketing, or media, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry.
• Proven track record of developing successful content strategies for large-scale platforms.
• Deep knowledge of the NFL, fan behaviors, and digital content trends.
• Exceptional Power-Point and presentation development skills
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and inspiring creative teams.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and project management abilities.
• Strong proficiency in analytics tools to measure content performance and inform strategic decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA preferred
• Experience working with NFL-related content or within a sports media organization.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and digital platforms (e.g., AR, VR, social media trends).
• Strong network within the sports content community
• Understanding of cost/benefit analysis
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
• Full-time NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role may occasionally require work during nights, weekends and/or holidays.
Salary / Pay Range
This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$130,000
- $170,000 USD
