Corporate Engineering Director

Job Description

Development and implementation of RF transmission system improvements for a large, multi-station company, encompassing a range of stations from top 10 markets to smaller local markets. Provide support for all stations in maintaining and repairing transmission systems. Assist with budgeting for both capital and repair costs. Dispatch support as needed to assist the stations.

Evaluate the long-term health of the RF systems infrastructure and plan for future replacements and upgrades.

Review capital requests related to these operations.

Assist with implementation of Satellite and News microwave design and deployment.

Monitor FCC actions which affect the company and inform management on the consequences of any FCC actions on station operations.

Monitor station compliance with FCC regulations and guide station management in conformance with these regulations.

Monitor industry forums and stay current with technological changes and how they could be applied to improve our operations.

Coordinate FCC application changes and work with the legal department on the filings.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience with Broadcast transmission systems implementation and maintenance.

Experience managing large multi-site high value projects.

Experience with FCC regulation, compliance, and implementation.

Broadcast signal coverage evaluation and implementation a plus.

Capital budget management and implementation for a large, multi-station operation.

This is a Nexstar Corporate Engineering position but primary work location is flexible.

Must be willing and able to travel.
