Job Description

This position will coordinate all video production within the News department. The ideal candidate must be familiar with video editing applications, Google Drive, MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, have extensive knowledge of live production in a studio setting, post-production and be solution-oriented. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and familiar with a fast-paced local and network news environment. The Production Supervisor will act as a liaison between producers, editors, photographers and studio crew to ensure that all PIX11 News and Nexstar Media network productions shot at WPIX-TV are completed to deadline meeting top market quality control standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Management of primary media delivery to air and ensuring deadlines are both enforced and met.
• Assigning and tracking key tasks related to media movement, edit support, asset delivery.
• Coordinate workflow of Studio Crew, Newscenter Operators and Video Editors to bring all production projects to completion.
• Oversee any or all WPIX & on-site Nexstar Studio, Digital Streaming Set and Control room production, assuring performance standards.
• Liaise with WPIX operations & executive leadership.
• Liaise between producers and internal departments as needed.
• Coordinate facilities, IT, and maintenance services with assigned control rooms and studios for On-air and recorded productions.
• Ensure that all work is done under the technical guidelines, operations procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
• Implement unified operational strategy across all WPIX day parts.
• Work with Production & News teams to align budgets with creative requirements, production schedules, and production milestones for assigned productions.
• Prepare production plans, schedules and milestones.
• Manage production budget pacing and forecast.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci and Bitcentral Create video editing applications. Familiarity with Google Drive, MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite is strongly preferred. He or She is a self-starter who can work independently on special projects but has also shown he or she is able to collaborate seamlessly with all departments involved in successfully completing live and recorded video productions. Successful candidate must possess sound leadership ability with a proven track record. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 to 5 years progressive experience working in video production, preferably in a fast paced newsroom environment, is required. Experience in news gathering a major market. Must have good organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS

The position has direct impact on all PIX11 News content that goes to air via broadcast and digital media, as well as various video productions that air nationally for Nexstar Media and online. Flawed judgment could impair station operations and loss of revenue.
