Senior Digital Media Strategist (Remote)

The Senior Digital Media Strategist is a key role on the Media Strategy team servicing Nexstar Digital's largest accounts. As part of the Strategic Accounts group, the Media Strategy team is responsible for the development of digital media recommendations and the overall strategic approach to digital media campaigns in pursuit of achieving client advertising goals. The Senior Digital Media Strategist is responsible for the development and presentation of all media proposals working cross-functionally with the Client Success team and Sales throughout the entire campaign process. This role will work independently while also collaborating closely with the broader Media Strategy team, with oversight from the Media Supervisor.

Responsibilities
• Develop strong and effective media plans based on sound strategies and research
• Lead and manage media campaign creation, partnering with internal and external teams in close collaboration with the Sales team
• Maintain a deep understanding of client goals and objectives and translate them into digital objectives/strategies
• Develop and present digital media recommendations during client pitch meetings in partnership with the Sales team
• Serve as the subject matter expert and provide guidance to Nexstar stations and clients on digital media strategies
• Collaborates closely with Planners and assist in their training and development
• Analyze digital media research, reports and trends to inform and create compelling media POVs and recommendations based on client objectives and goals
• Provide active voice in media strategies, optimization and opportunities for improvement in media process and execution
• Responsible for staying abreast of industry trends, best practices and new technology to enhance digital media plans and campaign performance
• Develop relationships with external media partners with an understanding of capabilities and offerings, working closely with the Partner Manager in the vetting process
• Educate internal teams on digital media advertising strategies, tactics, trends and best practices
• Master internal request and workflow system to maintain inter-departmental organization and streamline communication

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Comfortable with the technical aspects of digital advertising: data, tagging and tracking, programmatic buying, dashboard configuration, advertising platforms, etc.
• Strong media math, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Curious and proactive: Enjoys monitoring the rapidly changing media landscape, market, technologies and trends and how they may impact our strategies
• Comfortable with change: Has a test-and-learn philosophy; willing to try something new, fail fast, and learn how to adapt
• Proficiency in comScore or similar research tools is a big plus
• Previous experience working with data and measurement partners
• Must have experience in some of the following areas: DSPs/Programmatic, Facebook/Instagram, Google Ads, YouTube, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, TapClicks (or similar)
• Strong client service skills
• Ability to multi-task and remain accountable to deadlines without exceptions
• Extreme attention to detail and strong sense of urgency
• Ability to analyze and present data effectively
• Persuasive oral and written communication
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team and independently

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3+ years of digital media experience (agency side preferred). Previous experience in digital media planning required. A strong understanding of the entire digital campaign process is a must, from media planning and activation through to reporting and analysis.

Work Environment/Mental/Physical Requirements: Fast-paced office environment with deadline pressures. Position requires day-to-day multi-tasking and handling multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority.
