Promotions Producer

Job Description

The Promotions Producer will be a highly motivated and creative individual. This position will be responsible for producing effective on-air news topicals and completing other marketing projects.
• Write, produce, and edit compelling on-air news topicals, consulting with promotion manager and news managers
• Work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and ensure that assigned on-air promos are completed on time
• Push the creative envelope while adhering to brand guidelines
• Perform other related duties, as assigned by creative services director and promotion manager

Requirements & Skills:
• Two years of news topical promotion or news producing experience at a local station preferred.
• Must have ability to work evening hours regularly and weekend hours as needed
• Strong writing ability and understanding of local news, local politics and benefit of coverage to the viewer
• Solid knowledge of news platforms such as Associated Press ENPS and news server edit systems
• Non-linear editing skills, Adobe Premiere preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to provide a reel of work examples -- include a web address with your resume or cover letter.
• Possess excellent communication, presentation, organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with all departments
