Job Description
The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, is hiring a Newsroom Administrator to provide office support to its newsroom at 16th & K Street NW in Washington, DC. This new position reports to The Hill's Chief Operating Officer and will contribute to the company's growth by ensuring our editors and reporters can stay focused on growing our digital audience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage certain aspects of Accounts Payable, including invoice entry and approval tracking
• Manage royalty payments and help with 1099 reporting for freelancers and contributors
• Monitor and reconcile corporate credit card spending
• Assist with recruiting reporters and editors: reviewing candidate applications, coordinating interview schedules, gathering feedback from interviews
• Review, route and reply to reader correspondence, press releases, and general mail
• Perform receptionist duties including greeting visitors; signing for packages; as well as answering, screening, and directing incoming phone calls
• Order and maintain office supplies, place service orders for equipment repairs
• Coordinate maintenance and related activities with landlord and building management
• Provide administrative support to Managing Editor, Editor in Chief and others as assigned, preparing expense reports, booking business travel, etc.
• Assist with shortlist subscription mailings

Skills & Qualifications:
• At least one year's experience in a professional office environment
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
• Competency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and experience with accounting software
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity
• Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and prioritization skills
• Able to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
• Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
