Job Description
The News Photographer operates television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.
• Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Shoots video for news reports.
• Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements.
• Sets up, composes, and executes video shots.
• Maintains video equipment.
• Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content.
• Operates live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:

Multi-skilled ENG camera operator/editor with strong journalistic skills.

Shooting daily news and current affairs video for all on air and online platforms.
Operate large and small P2 cameras. Setting up live shots in studio and in the
field using live microwave trucks and bonded wireless systems (dejero/tvU). Editing both daily news and features on Grass Valley Edius software - often on tight deadlines. Managing and ingesting server-based media from multiple sources. KEEPING UP TO DATE ON CURRENT EVENTS, pitching stories, finding creative ways to present material. The successful candidate will have: Experience in Live audio/video production and the ability to troubleshoot. Able to work without a reporter. Experience with social media and producing content for digital platforms. Ability to gather and produce content efficiently to meet strict deadlines. Solid overall technical grasp of production tools and field applications. Extremely Strong interpersonal skills, creative problem solving and initiative. A willingness to travel--possibly to high-risk regions. A willingness to work long hours including evenings and weekends with an extremely flexible work schedule.
