The Motion Design Artist/Editor designs motion graphics for station promotion, daily local news programs, sales projects, and station events, as well as print and digital assets.

Top candidates must have exceptional creativity and innovative design skills and be organized and effective in a fast-paced work environment.

The Motion Design Artist/Editor works closely with the Creative Services Director, Promotion and Production staff to visualize and execute concepts that meet station objectives. This position interacts with news and sales staff.

This is a full-time, non-union position.

Requirement:
• An online link to a recent portfolio of broadcast, print and digital projects is required.

Essential Job Functions:
• Daily work for promotion, sales promotion, and station promotion, with heavy emphasis on graphics creation for News specials and creating/maintaining station branding and following brand guidelines.
• Meet hard deadlines and advance projects based on workload.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Art, Motion Design, or equivalent experience.

Experience:
• Three years of related academic or professional graphic design and layout experience; experience with design software, proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Premiere Pro, Blender or similar 3D experience is a plus. Ross Xpression experience preferred.
• Broadcast or creative marketing agency experience is preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Crafting comprehensive graphics packages encompassing logos, in-studio graphics, and design templates for shows, segments, and multimedia specials.
• Ability to maintain and advance the graphic look of the station.
• Basic color correction, knowledge of graphics design/video/digital file formats, knowledge of codecs and aspect ratios for exporting and rendering projects for TV and print.
• Video editing, writing, and directing/producing projects that further the brand of the stations and meet organizational standards and brand expectations under the guidance and review of CSD and senior producers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail. Exceptional organizational and time management skills and adaptability to changing priorities and hard deadlines.
• Excellent interdepartmental communication skills.
• Willingness to work some extra hours and shifts.
• Work independently and proactively, as well as collaborate with the team and advance teammates' skills with new training when appropriate.
• Follow department process guidelines and take/offer constructive feedback on projects.
• Knowledge of project management software (Monday.com) & collaboration platform (Frame.io) a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• $22 per hour
