DC News Now located in the Washington, DC DMA (Market # 9) has an immediate opening for a talented ''IT Network Engineer'' with a ''can do'' attitude to install, operate, maintain, update and repair hardware and systems used for broadcasting and business operations. Washington, DC is the center of the nation's politics, but there is a huge local news landscape beyond the beltway. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintaining computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware
• Installing and configuring network equipment
• Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected
• Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
• Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
• Implementing disaster recovery procedures
• Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
• Troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• 3+ years of Network Engineering Experience
• Certifications: Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS or JNCIP
• Experience and working knowledge with the following Network Hardware Platforms and related Operating Systems:
• Experience and working knowledge with the following: Juniper MX, Juniper EX Series, Juniper QFX Series, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ISR, Cisco ASR
• Experience and working knowledge of the following Firewall Hardware Platforms: Juniper SRX, Fortigate, Checkpoint
• Experience and working knowledge of the following Wi-Fi systems: Aruba, Ubiquiti, or Forticlient
• Experience and working knowledge of the following Network Protocols: Spanning-Tree, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP
• Strong Customer Facing Skills
