We are looking for an energetic self-starter with short form video production experience and a passion for creating consumer-facing content. As Head of Video Production at BestReviews, you will lead the evolution of our video content across several channels. You'll manage and oversee video production for our web and mobile sites, YouTube, social media, and the Nexstar broadcast stations. You'll use quantitative data and editorial judgment to oversee the quality of videos we publish. You'll manage a small in-house team and freelancers, ensuring you have the proper tools and process to deliver on growth plans. We are a small, friendly, and productive team - and we look forward to growing the BestReviews brand reach with video.

This role is full-time and based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but we will consider remote candidates as well. Learn more about us here:

Your primary objective / responsibilities:
• Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and production management across all video content, creating functional excellence and team efficiency
• Own the video production calendar and collaborate with editorial on ideation through post-production
• Manage a two person staff; recruit and manage talent, freelance editors, and freelance writers to ensure all content is done on time, up to standard and within budget
• Review and pivot based on performance data results in multiple platforms, ensuring we make the smartest content creation decisions based on shared KPI.
• Support broadcast efforts by organizing and delivering b-roll packages for partner stations
• Act as liaison between BestReviews and partners on broadcast opportunities
• Partner with editorial/marketing teams to ensure content is optimized for brand voice.
• Schedule, organize and lead shoot days, with occasional travel.
• Maximize shoot days by creating content for several platforms whenever possible

Qualifications / Requirements:
• 4+ years of experience in video content creation
• A track record of success producing videos for web and mobile sites, YouTube, and social media
• High level of attention to detail with excellent organizational/project-management skills
• Goal-oriented and organized, with strong storytelling and visual capabilities
• A proven ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines
• Excellent writer and verbal communication skills
• Confident, passionate, and professional
• Experience recruiting and managing freelance resources
• Knowledge of SEO best practices/sense of what's trending for video content
• Understanding, interest in consumer products and ecommerce
• A bachelor's degree in film, media, management, production, or a related field desirable

Compensation ranges from $85,000-$95,000 + commensurate with experience and skill level.
