Job Description

PIX11 is looking for a graphic artist. Their primary focus will be on the daily newscasts. The candidate must be proficient in Adobe Photo Shop & After Effects. Experience in Xpression a definite plus. The designer will be working in a fast-paced news environment with shifts ranging from overnights to evenings. The news is a 24/7 business, and we need an artist who will embrace the pace and schedule with enthusiasm. News experience is a big plus.

Willingness and comfort taking direction from News show producers and reporters.
• Creation of monitors, over-the-shoulders, lower third chips, all designed to connect the viewer to the story using visual terms.
• Creating full screens, maps, charts, graphs, and text to present facts, statistics and any and all pertinent information attached to a story.
• Clear and constant communication with producers, writers and reporters to service the graphic needs of the news is a must.
• Ability and comfort to work alone, think on your feet and create within the station style guide, colors, layout, fonts, etc.is crucial
