Engineering / IT Assistant

Job Description

The Engineering / IT Assistant is an entry level position with the Suncoast News Network in Sarasota. The qualified candidate will serve as a support in the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department and will assist in the maintenance of station and all broadcast technology and IT equipment at the station and transmitter site.
• Assist in all aspects of the Engineering / IT Department
• Assist in maintenance of all broadcast technology and equipment for the station and transmitter site
• Works closely with the Engineering Department in Tampa
• Repairs and helps maintain building infrastructures
• Coordinate with Vendors
• Assists in maintaining station vehicle fleet, including live satellite trucks
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Fluency in English; strong communication, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• End user support for station personnel
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work extended hours, as needed

Requirements
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Able to work independently
• Good people skills is a must
