Candidates should possess the ability to communicate effectively and perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail. This position is integral in the day to day running of our three television stations.
This position reports directly to the General Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Oversees the management of all aspects of the Engineering Department
• Communicates and coordinates with other departments to provide support wherever needed
• Maintains all broadcast technology and equipment for the station and transmitter sites
• Ensures station compliance with rules and regulations applicable to FCC, local, state, and federal laws
• Proactive, dynamic, flexible, self-starter with a positive attitude who can learn new systems or equipment on their own
• Works closely with Chief Engineer to implement new technologies and technical infrastructure for the station
• Assists with managing engineering and technology capital projects to the established budgets.
• Evaluates, selects, installs, services, and maintains station equipment and information technology systems
• Repairs and maintains station building infrastructures
• Assists in maintaining a station vehicle fleet, including a live satellite truck
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Manage projects, timelines, and department initiatives.
Requirements & Skills:
• Ability to document and train other individuals on new equipment
• Five to seven (5-7) years management experience, preferably in a television environment
• Ability to work extended hours, as needed
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Familiarity with Adobe-related software/hardware products a plus
• Minimum three years experience with a television broadcasting environment
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong communication, both verbal and written
• Associate Degree in Electronics, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience preferred
