Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the Corporate Accounting Department in various tasks related to Accounts Payable processing as it relates to Corporate related Accounts Payable invoices (i.e., Legal, Consolidated invoices, etc.). Additionally, the Accounts Payable Specialist will process all Company related Capital expenditure invoices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Accurate & Timely data entry of vendor invoices and credits
• Processes Non-PO invoices
• Where applicable, perform Statement Reconciliations
• Ensure that all customer emails/calls are followed up on in a timely manner
• Meets/Maintains Department SLA for acceptable processing volume
• Meets/Maintains Department SLA for acceptable quality standards
• Assist with the preparation of monthly accounting journal entries related to accruals & deposits
• Assist with the preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations pertaining to AP
• Research and resolve expense and payment variances/discrepancies
• Ensure all levels of approvals within the accounting process have been achieved
• Prepare daily/weekly check issuance for management approval
• Additional projects and functions as delegated by department management
• Assist the external auditors when requested
• This position has no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Direct related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess strong customer service skills
• Working knowledge of general bookkeeping or accounting practices
• Experience with one or more accounting software packages and/or ERPs
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentage, and apply to practical situations
