Who we are:

NewsNation is a national cable news network currently reaching approximately 75 million television households across the United States. The network is owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group (NXST).

NewsNation is currently searching for a Transmission (Feed Room) Supervisor based in our Chicago headquarters.

Responsibilities:

The Transmission Supervisor will be responsible for the operational management and oversight of tuning and recording multiple newsgathering systems, including (but not limited to) incoming satellite, bonded cellular (TVU, LiveU, Dejero), and multiple online video conferencing systems (Zoom, Skype, etc.).

The successful candidate will be the liaison between Operations and News Production when it comes to feed requests, setting up special one offs for special events, etc. and will help create and streamline daily assignments. They will also coordinate the overall workflow between the feed room, control rooms, producers, engineering, media managers, and editing. It will be the responsibility of the Transmission Supervisor to ensure all Transmission requests are clearly communicated to all parties involved.

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years' television newsgathering and transmission experience required.
• Someone with both an editorial and technical mindset.
• Must work well in a collaborative team environment, be able to multitask.
• A problem solver and quick thinker to resolve existing issues and provide solutions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to quickly multi-task is essential.
• Must be self-sufficient and have a ''press-on-regardless'' attitude.
• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, BitCentral, and ENPS systems a plus.
• Command of common business software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Must be able to work any and all shifts/days.
• Bachelor's degree in communications or related field preferred.
