Job Description
Fueled by the broad appeal of being able to instantly enjoy unlimited movies and TV shows, Netflix has grown to more than 204 million streaming members in over 190 countries. With continued international expansion, and increased acquisition and production underway, it's a great time to join Netflix. This is an opportunity to work with a team that handles written communications within the publicity organization for Netflix, shaping the perception of original films and series, as well as how they should be enjoyed and celebrated.

The Role

The Specialist will work across the film, series and documentaries publicity teams, supporting the team that crafts messaging around Netflix's slate and strategy. The role requires a detail-oriented, adaptable candidate comfortable with juggling multiple tasks and systems.

This includes, but is not limited to:
• Updating editorial calendar, internal databases, and other team documents
• Tracking freelance contributors
• Maintaining budgeting systems
• Scheduling meetings, interviews, creating forms and templates
• Tracking/updating/sourcing elements for press notes
• Coordinating with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of written materials
• Writing loglines, synopses, talking points, and light press notes that can include director's Q&As and statements, episode descriptions, and more

The Specialist-level candidate will have past administrative experience preferably in publicity, journalism, or publishing. A facility for writing and a knowledge of publicity, film, and television business terminology is a must. A successful candidate can anticipate messaging needs and move projects forward quickly, is able to meet fast-breaking deadlines, and can prioritize accordingly. Possible growth opportunity into a more substantial writing role.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for specialist will have at least 3+ years of entertainment experience in a studio, network, agency, or journalism setting. BA/BS required. Published clips preferred, otherwise writing samples will be required. Familiarity with Google-based applications is a plus.

Compensation

Netflix offers an attractive compensation package consisting of base salary, stock options, 401K (with match), and comprehensive benefits.
