Technical Program Manager (Animation Studio Technology)

It's an amazing time to be joining Netflix as we continue to transform entertainment around the world. We have grown to 208 million paid memberships in over 190 countries. We've become one of the largest entertainment studios in the world, creating new original content at an incredible pace. The Studio Innovation product team is front and center of this growth. We build software that fuels the production and creation of Netflix content. The Animation Studio Technology team within Studio Innovation builds products that power the Netflix Animation Studio ecosystem. Netflix is on a path to release six animation feature films per year, which no major studio has ever done, on top of the very healthy slate of animation series.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Digital Productions and Animation Technologies (DPAT) Engineering team. The DPAT team builds products and services to power workflows for animated and live-action content creation. In this role, you will collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and numerous other cross-functional teams such as Platform, Infrastructure, and Security teams to drive complex strategic initiatives from inception to delivery. You have the opportunity to make a significant impact, and you'll learn and grow alongside stunning colleagues who share your attention to detail and appetite for problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
• Own and drive cross-functional execution of program deliverables.
• Approach complex problems with a strategic perspective and develop strategies to address them.
• Leverage your experience with various systems to improve overall engineering execution.
• Proactively identify inefficiencies, risks, and gaps that stifle the program's progress and implement better and more efficient workflows.
• Establish an overall plan for several teams to rally around by identifying the systems involved to build new solutions, align roadmaps, and weigh relative priorities.
• Build strong subject matter knowledge to balance business demands with technological restrictions.
• Assess and evaluate a program's technical implementation with engineering to determine the best strategy for the challenge at hand.
• Drive complex technical discussions with audiences of varying technical and subject matter backgrounds.
• Develop and own communication plans for communicating program status, big picture, challenges, and risks to stakeholders effectively and proactively.

Qualifications:
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• A strong understanding of working within product management, software engineering, or systems management
• Deep experience working cross-functionally across several different product development teams and stake-holders to successfully build and deliver scalable solutions
• Highly skilled, organized, experienced, and enjoy orchestrating programs with many moving parts: people, needs, and technologies
• Operate autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrate critical thinking and thought leadership
• Action-oriented and able to solve ambiguous, complex technical problems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
• Experience establishing trust and strong work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners
• Comfortable collaborating and influencing a diverse set of people and teams to do what needs to get done and negotiate when approaches or timelines change.
• Zoom in and out seamlessly to identify bottlenecks and stay focussed on the big picture.
• Love to dive into the technology aspect of a program, gaining rich context that enables you to be even more thoughtful and effective in making the initiative happen.
• Drive the business forward through the programs you run
• Stellar communication skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of studio production is a plus

Your Environment
• You will be trusted by your team and the organization to make impactful decisions. We also provide support through mentorship and coaching.
• You will contribute to a safe and inclusive environment by being curious and vulnerable.
• We will learn how to build the best creative experience together.
