Job Description
The Partner Engineering (PE) team delivers Netflix on hundreds of millions of partner devices from smart TV's to TV Operator set-top box to streaming sticks. The team collaborates with partners across the globe to deliver the Netflix Streaming Client on their devices, which is a core part of the Netflix experience.

We want to delight our customers with a service that just works, always. This requires our engineers to engage with SoC, system architecture, and payment systems. We are looking for software engineers to help repeatedly deliver a world-class highly reliable Netflix application. Our partner devices run a diverse set of operating systems including 3rd party technologies that makes Netflix application feature testing a unique challenge.

The Opportunity

This position will be based out of our Los Gatos office in California. As a Partner Engineer in Test for Netflix, you will focus on developing code to test our app on partner platforms. Your work will directly impact the Netflix business. The functionality in Netflix certified products include streaming and playback, standards driven graphics, dynamic UI, payments, security, and other innovative partner-specific adaptations. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers at Netflix. You will get an opportunity to experience the full software stack, and influence and contribute to our highly specialized tools.

Developing, certifying, and maintaining the features that provide for the ever evolving Netflix experience require continuous investments in quality. Netflix is a native application and so this role brings together embedded device technologies and data driven validation using both general purpose embedded tools and specialized Netflix tools. You will develop code to establish correctness and completeness of the Netflix application on devices and continuously assess measurability to drive up quality.

Responsibilities
• Feature test authoring for Netflix Partner focused features
• Test triage across all major Netflix Partner Platforms during SDK development
• First point of contact for all tests for Partner Engineering during all device certifications
• Respond to partner feedback with improvements, and explore new features
• Contribute to and provide critical feedback into developing test strategies
• Explore and extend our device test capabilities
• Champion feature integration testing in Partner Engineering

Minimum Qualifications
• 1-3 years experience with C/C++
• 1-3 years experience with scripting languages like JavaScript, Python, or similar.
• You have explored basic application design and system architecture.
• You have some experience developing software solutions.
• You are highly curious and have explored Linux fundamentals.
• You are passionate about debugging platform level issues.
• You are fearless about programming languages but have at least one strong preference

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with memory models in embedded systems.
• You have directly contributed and supported your code.
• You present evidence of good collaboration and communication skills with a bias towards software testing and code quality.
