Making the Netflix product experience best-in-class requires excellence in several different engineering disciplines. One of the systems that enables this is Netflix's Content Delivery Network – Open Connect. Open Connect is the globally-distributed infrastructure that delivers bits to user devices in a way that makes the Internet architecture scale.

The Open Connect Control Plane team builds and operates services that are responsible for steering user devices to the most suitable Open Connect servers and distributing content to Open Connect servers with a strong focus on infrastructure efficiency.
Open Connect is a truly global team representing a diverse set of skills, backgrounds, cultures and personalities. The Open Connect Control Plane team has around 10 engineers that are focused on various different technology domains including data science and engineering, scalable distributed systems, stream processing, security, etc.

We are looking for a security-focused Software Engineer that can help solve problems such as:
• Improving encryption schemes used for playback URLs
• Efficiently scale PKI for authenticating Open Connect servers and the control plane
• Building an orchestration layer for all services fielding traffic from Open Connect servers
• Validate the Internet routing table to prevent malicious or unintended traffic hijacking

Qualifications:
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency with a modern programming language
• Experience using data warehouses
• Experience with PKI
• Bonus: Awareness of networking protocols
• Bonus: Experience with network abuse and DDoS prevention
